Disabled Motorcyclists Association (DMA)
DMA aims to support all disabled riders both past and present. Although based in the North West we will not refuse assistance to those who may live outside the area. The DMA provides practical help and support to all those who ride a motorbike, scooter, moped, trike or are considering riding for the first time. We can help with advice on what adaption needs to be done to your chosen bike and act as a signpost to where you can obtain the adaption and what you need to consider before riding. This is linked into our information database. The DMA is also in favour of promoting safe riding and the positive image of motorcycling. Comments: 0; Added: 03-10-2007)

Baywatch Campaign
Many disabled people rely on a car to get around. Although there is some accessible public transport it`s still few and far between in many areas. To make full use of their car disabled people rely on being able to park close to their destination. The blue badge scheme and the provision of designated parking for disabled people is supposed to make it easier but all too often disabled people find they can not park because other non-badge holders have parked in the disabled spaces. The Baywatch Campaign has been set up with the objective of ending this abuse. Comments: 0; Added: 03-10-2007)

National Association for Bikers with a Disability (NABD)
NABD was set up in April 1991 by six bikers from Stockport and Manchester who would not accept the idea that disabled people could not ride motorcycles, scooters, or trikes. The initial project was to find a way to adapt a motorcycle for a rider who had suffered the amputation of his lower left leg in an accident. The NABD has been instrumental in similar groups setting up in Norway, Sweden, France and Japan. Comments: 0; Added: 03-10-2007)
